My Antenatal Birth Preparation course is a fully comprehensive programme of birth education that includes hypnosis training, NLP techniques, positive affirmations, breathing for labour and birth, visualisations and deep relaxation to enable you to have a birth where you feel calm, confident and in control. It doesn’t matter what kind of birth you have - if you know the process and progress of birth and are prepared for whatever happens, you can have a positive birth. This includes feeling positive and unafraid of interventions and caesareans so whether you have a vaginal birth or a belly birth, it can be an awesome experience. It also doesn’t matter where in the world you live as you can book on an online course at a time and date that will suit. Birth is the same the world over. Medicalisation may be a bit different but birth isn’t and I have worked across the globe helping women to have a positive birth.

Using hypnosis will enable you to reach deep levels of relaxation that will help to eliminate the fear which causes tension and pain. By being calm, confident and in control, you and your birth partner will be equipped to navigate your labour and birth. Hypnobirthing teaches you how to tune into, and trust, your instincts. This approach can also affect the way you parent and the adults your children grow into.

I follow the easibirthing® hypnobirthing programme, which was developed by a clinical hypno-psychotherapist in collaboration with midwives to reflect UK midwifery practices.

My classes are structured but also friendly and informal. You’ll learn exactly why your body does what it does, as well as learning all about the physical and emotional aspects of birth. Each birth is unique, and this course is about empowering you to manage your individual experience, not fear it. 

Learning hypnobirthing techniques will:

  • help you to reduce or eliminate any fears you have about labour

  • significantly reduce or eliminate the need for medication, which reduces the risk of side effects for both mother and baby

  • increase the rate of spontaneous vaginal birth, reducing the need for intervention

  • shorten the period of labour by reducing fear and anxiety during each stage

  • enable the mother to be more alert and calm during the birthing process, creating a more peaceful birthing environment

  • promote lactation for breastfeeding.

When necessary, I can offer a tailored course that will suit you. If you’ve already had a child, I can work with you to remind you of what you’ve already learned and give you additional resources.
